Director John R. Santomauro leads the Public Safety Department. He's been with the department over 24 years and has more than 39 years of law enforcement experience.  Prior to law enforcement, Director Santomauro served in the United States Marine Corp as a platoon sergeant assigned to a Marine infantry unit.  He received a combat promotion to the rank of sergeant and was decorated with the Navy Commendation with Combat "V", the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and Combat Action Ribbon, along with other personal and unit citations. 

Director Santomauro has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Science from Madonna College and a Master's Degree from Eastern Michigan University.  He is also a graduate of the 164th Session of the FBI National Academy. 

Director Santomauro's command staff is comprised of a fire chief, two deputy police chiefs, a fire marshal, 3 fire captains, 9 fire and 5 police lieutenants, and 10 police sergeants that take part in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organization.
