The Wireless Association and its members are working in conjunction with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to enable wireless customers to sign up and receive free geographically specific wireless AMBER Alert text messages when a child has been abducted in their area. The nationwide AMBER Alert program was originally designed to create early warning systems to aid in the quick recovery of abducted children.

There are over 20 wireless carriers participating in this free program. To sign up your wireless phone to receive free AMBER Alerts in your area, go to www.wirelessamberalerts.org and follow the simple online instructions.
