This is a team of firefighters who are able to respond to incidents where hazardous materials are present. The HAZMAT team is comprised of firefighters whose departments are members of the Western Wayne County Mutual Aid Association. HAZMAT members are able to respond to incidents as a unit or can provide expert consultation to their individual departments. The main benefit of this team is that it offers fire departments a cost-effective way to provide HAZMAT services when needed.
