Serious injury crash - Update
April 25, 2008, Canton, MI This morning 48-year old Diane Arlene Eickmeyer of Gregory, Michigan died due to injuries sustained in the crash on Tuesday, April 22, 2008. Eickmeyer had been on life-support since Tuesdays crash. The case remains under investigation by the accident investigation team.

Serious Injury Crash Original Release
April 22, 2008, Canton, MI Canton Police and Fire responded to the intersection of Ford and Ridge on a report of a vehicle crash involving a motorcycle and a minivan. Upon arrival officers rendered aid and CFD transported both victims to St Joes Hospital where they are both listed in critical condition.
Preliminary investigation by the Canton Accident Investigation team reveals that a 48-year old woman from Gregory, Michigan was driving her motorcycle west on Ford Rd. The driver of the minivan, a 17 year old female from Plymouth was driving south on Ridge and stopped at the intersection. Witnesses reported that the driver proceeded across Ford Road into the path of the motorcyclist causing the motorcycle to strike the van just behind the drivers door. The minivan came to rest on the south side of Ford Road. Neither of the vehicles had any passengers.
There is no indication that either drugs or alcohol played a part in the crash. Further tests will be conducted to determine speed and cause. The case remains under investigation by the accident investigation team.
