Suspects arraigned on Home Invasion charges
July 1, 2009, Canton, MI – On June 27, 2009, two suspects believed to be responsible for a string of home invasions throughout the northwest area of Canton were arraigned before the Presiding Judge in 34th District Court. Joel Allen Boyd, 24, of Ypsilanti, was charged with Second Degree Home Invasion, a felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison, and Habitual Offender. Boyd’s bond was set at $50,000.00 cash. Keith Eugene List, 25, of Ypsilanti, was also charged with Felony Second Degree Home Invasion and Habitual Offender. List’s bond was set at $50,000.00 or ten percent cash. The two were taken into custody after a police surveillance team followed them to a residence in the area of Ford and Napier Roads, in Canton. The surveillance team watched the two men approach the house and knock on the front door for several minutes. When the officers lost sight of the men, they approached the house and witnessed the men inside the residence attempting to remove property. The suspects were taken into custody without incident. Boyd and List failed to post bond and are currently in Wayne County Jail awaiting their Preliminary Exam scheduled for July 10, 2009 at 35th District Court in Plymouth. ###
