May 18, 2009, Canton, MI - Canton Public Safety Director John Santomauro has issued a temporary traffic order in conjunction with the Canton Cup Soccer Tournament being held the weekend of May 22-24, 2009.

Due to safety concerns for pedestrians and motorists, the speed limit on Denton Road shall be 25 mph from 1,000 feet north of Proctor Road to 1,000 feet south of the southern boundary of Independence Park during the following times:

          May 22, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. 9:00 p.m.

          May 23, 2009 from 7:00 a.m.  9:00 p.m.

          May 24, 2009 from 7:00 a.m.  2:00 p.m.

In addition, parking will be prohibited on the east side of Denton Road from Times Drive to Lansdowne.

This order is issued in accordance with the Uniform Traffic Code for cities, townships and villages, R28.1127, Rule 127.
