Bowling lock-in fundraiser for teens
January 8, 2008, Canton, MI – Superbowl of Canton is partnering with the Canton Police Department’s Explorer Program to put on an all-night bowling lock-in for kids ages 9-15. The lock-in is scheduled for Sunday, January 20, beginning at midnight and ending at 7:00 a.m., on Monday, January 21 (Holiday for most schools on Monday). Participants will not be permitted to leave the Superbowl until 7 a.m., and will be supervised by Canton police officers during the entire event.
The cost is $20 per person and includes bowling, shoe rental, pizza, and breakfast. Proceeds will benefit the Canton Police Explorer Unit, which is made up of students ages 14-20 who are seriously interested in exploring a career in law enforcement. The program provides serious, realistic exposure of the law enforcement career. Explorers in the program train bi-weekly on a wide variety of topics. Explorers are taught the procedures used by officers and learn the basic elements of the subject matter. Explorers must also maintain the physical, moral and scholastic standards required to be a member in the program.
To registration contact the Superbowl at 734/459-6070.
For more information on the Explorer program or to make a donation, contact Sergeant Robert Sidor at the Canton Police Department, 734/394-5400.
