Traffic Enforcement on School Property

Beginning May 18, Canton Police will be able to enforce traffic and parking laws on all Plymouth-Canton school property located in Canton. This includes the 15 mph speed limit at the high school campus.

This change comes after the Plymouth-Canton School Board requested police enforcement on all school property. Under state law, if school boards request this police service, local municipalities can adopt an ordinance giving police the authority to enforce traffic laws on school district-owned private property.

For a copy of the ordinance, contact the Clerk's office at 734/394-5120.
