Canton Public Safety Director John Santomauro has issued two emergency traffic orders in conjunction with Canton's Liberty Fest, Parade and Fireworks scheduled for next weekend, June 15-18.

The first order is for Saturday, June 17, from 8:30 a.m.–11:00 a.m., and states Ford Road between Canton Center and Lilley will be closed for the Liberty Fest parade.

The second order is for Friday June 16, at 11:00 a.m. - Sunday, June 18 at 6:00 p.m., and states parking will be prohibited along Canton Center Road between Cherry Hill and Palmer. This order also includes a second notice for Saturday, June 17 between 10:30 p.m. - 11:30 p.m., that states Canton Center Road between Cherry Hill and Palmer Road will be closed to evacuate fireworks traffic.

These orders are issued as proactive safety measures and in accordance with the Uniform Traffic Code for Cities, Townships and Villages, R28.1127 Rule 27.
