November 2, 2007, Canton, MI – Andrew Michael Forte, 20 of Garden City, was arraigned in 35th District Court today on charges for Breaking and Entering a church in Canton on October 18, 2007.  Forte was charged with Breaking & Entering a Building, a 10-year felony, and Safe Breaking, a felony punishable by any term up to life in prison.

Police investigations led officers to Forte after several tips were called into the department following the church surveillance tape being broadcast by local new stations.  

Magistrate Eric Colthurst ordered Forte be held on a $50,000 cash bond.  His preliminary exam is scheduled for 8:30 a.m., on Friday, November 16, 2007 at the 35th District Court in Plymouth.

Information has also been turned over to the Westland Police Department for similar break-ins.
