Fire department promotes four firefighters
November 30, 2007, Canton, MI – The Canton Fire Department has promoted four firefighters this month. Three have been promoted to the rank of Captain, and one to the rank of Battalion Chief.
Battalion Chief Timothy Dunn, age 43, is a 20-year veteran of the department. Dunn has a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Madonna University, and recently graduated from Eastern Michigan University’s Fire Staff and Command School. He is also a licensed paramedic, and holds numerous certifications in incident command and leadership. Tim is married, and has two daughters age 4 and 3.
Captain John Bartle, age 42, is a 20-year veteran of the department. Bartle has an Associates Degree from Schoolcraft College. He earned his paramedic license in 1998, and has received Fire Officer I, II & III certification. John has two daughters ages 20 and 18, and a 15-year old son.
Captain Ronald Battani, age 52, is a 20-year veteran of the department. Battani is a licensed Emergency Medical Technician and holds several certifications including Fire Officer I, II, & III. Ron has a 22-year old son.
Captain Stephen Gaggi, age 43, is a 20-year veteran of the department. Gaggi earned his Associates Degree from Davenport College. He has been a licensed paramedic since 1984, and has received several certifications including Firefighter Survival School from Michigan State University, and Fire Officer I, II & III.
These promotions were made to fill vacancies created by retirement this fall.
