Canton man charged in attack of girlfriend

Charles Blue, Jr., 38, of Canton, was arraigned this morning on charges of Assault with Intent to Murder, two counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct, and 1 count of Felonious Assault, in the attack of his estranged girlfriend. The Assault and CSC charges carry a sentence of life in prison or any number of years, and the felonious assault charge is a four-year felony. The victim, a 46 year-old female from West Bloomfield was attacked on June 11, at Blue, Jr.,’s residence in the 41000 block of Heathmore Court in Canton. She received treatment at an area hospital for multiple stab wounds to her body and to her eye; she is expected to make a full recovery.
Chief Judge John E. MacDonald of the 35th District Court arraigned Blue, Jr., on the charges and set his bond at $100,000 cash. Blue, Jr., has an extensive out-of-state criminal history, including several charges for domestic violence. Blue, Jr.’s, preliminary exam is scheduled for June 22, 2007 at 8:30 a.m., in the 35th District Court in Plymouth.
