Blackwell Ford donates vehicle to Canton Police Departments TEAM program
For release 04/05/07
Long-time resident and business owner in the Plymouth-Canton area, John Blackwell, III, continues to give back to the community. Once again Blackwell III, owner of Blackwell Ford in Plymouth, has donated a vehicle to the Canton Police Department's TEAM program. TEAM (Teaching, Educating and Mentoring) is a program that strives to make schools and communities safer and to promote understanding of laws, consequences of unlawful behavior and citizen responsibility. TEAM officers and teachers from local elementary and middle schools collaborate to develop lesson plans geared specifically toward the school-age children.
Since 1999, Blackwell has donated a lease vehicle to the department for TEAM officers to use while transporting materials to and from events. This year Blackwell donated a brand new Ford Explorer. The vehicle was then outfitted with standard police equipment and the TEAM logo was affixed to the outside.
John Blackwell, III, has always believed in the mission of the TEAM program and enjoys being able to give something back to the community. Blackwell Ford is located on Plymouth Road, just east of Haggerty Road in Plymouth.
