Public Safety's Records Bureau is located in the Public Safety Headquarters, adjacent to the Canton Administration Building. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Requests for reports are reviewed and approved by the Fire Marshal. |

Hours: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (appointment recommended). Canton residents with photo identification. We do not print for U.S. Immigration.

| Concealed Pistol License Permits (CPL) |

Applications for CPL's are processed by the Wayne County Sheriff's Department and are available on line thru their link: CPL Permit or at the Canton Police Department's Records Bureau. |
Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Requests - The Records Bureau accepts FOIA requests in person, by mail or fax to the above address/fax number. Requests are processed within (5) business days, as allowed by law. Requests should contain as much specific information as possible regarding names, dates, times, locations, etc. FOIA fees are based on an hourly labor rate, search and copy fees, and per page fees. Requestors will be notified when request is completed.
Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Form
Note: All Fire reports and Environmental Assessment reports must be submitted by FOIA request. EMS reports requested by anyone other than the patient must be by FOIA request, along with a signed medical authorization by individual treated (per HIPPA). Otherwise requestor must be legal guardian or next of kin.
