Speed and mobility are hallmarks of the department's Bicycle Unit. These officers are used on general patrol as well as special events such as Canton's annual Liberty Fest, or shopping areas during the holiday season. 

Bicycle officers are also valuable in directed patrol efforts in Canton subdivisions and mobile home parks. Working on a bicycle offers officers many advantages, especially mobility. Officers can get in and out of spots a squad car can't, as well as utilize the bikes to respond to runs where a silent, low-profile approach is needed.
