"State-of-the-art" defines the Canton Department of Public Safety's communication center. The communications center recently made several changes including installing a new computerized dispatch system, new phone hardware, and an enhanced 911 system.

The new dispatching system will meet Canton's needs well into the future by being able to expand and evolve along with technology. The new system will also provide Public Safety Service Officers (PSSOs) with more information about callers including name, address, and telephone number. The center has also been redesigned to provide a pleasant and productive atmosphere for employees.
