Public Safety's Records Bureau is located in the Public Safety Headquarters, adjacent to the Canton Administration Building. They are responsible for data entry of statistical information, generating statistical report, processing applications for handguns and providing report copies to the general public.

Canton residents only with valid photo identification. Permits are valid for 10 days. | | Clearance Letter | $5.00 each | Canton residents only, with identification. In person, bring the report number to expedite service. We accept cash or check only; no credit cards.
The Records Bureau also processes all freedom of information requests, discovery orders and subpoenas for records. These documents are accepted at the Records Bureau counter Monday - Friday, from 8:30 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. All requests will be processed in a timely manner, in accordance with the law.
