COVID-19 Updates

As of 4 p.m., Friday, March 27, Canton has 48 confirmed Coronavirus cases. This information will be updated daily.

March 27--In order to support other Beaumont hospitals throughout the region, Beaumont Wayne’s Emergency Department will be closed to EMS traffic. Canton Fire will no longer be able to transport to their facility.

Canton residents may still use Canton’s Beaumont facility for minor injuries during regular business hours, and should go to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ypsilanti, or St. Mary Mercy Hospital in Livonia for 24-hour emergency room services. Canton Fire will continue to monitor the situation and follow medical control protocols while transporting Canton residents.

If you think you need to be tested for COVID-19 (Coronavirus), the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) recommends that you contact your healthcare provider to discuss your symptoms.

The MDHHS also has a hotline for Coronavirus questions: 1-888/535-6136. This number will be answered daily from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

All Canton Township facilities are closed to the public until April 14. All critical and emergency services continue to operate with full staffing. The closures do not affect any Police or Fire services, including 9-1-1. Collection of trash will continue as scheduled.

Water bills can be paid by mail to P.O Box 87680, Canton Michigan, 48188; the drop box* located outside the main entrance to the Canton Administration Building, by phone IVR 833-697-1711, and online at However, late fees will not be assessed for March and April water bills as long as full payment is received by Friday, May 29. *Please do not place cash payments in the drop box.
