Apply for our 2020 Exhibition season!

The Gallery@VT would like to invite you to apply for a group or solo art exhibition for the 2020 season.  We are interested in presenting a diverse group of artists of all mediums.  Your submission will be juried by our exhibition committee comprised of local artists, arts professionals, and/or art educators.  Please be advised that you are ineligible if you have had a Solo Exhibition at the Gallery@VT within the last 5 years; however, you are eligible if you have been part of a collaborative show featuring 3 or more artists.


Submissions are due by April 11, 2019.



Your Entry Packet must include the following:


-Entry form must be completely filled out and signed.  Click here to download Entry form.

-Exhibition Proposal - if there is a concept/theme for your proposed exhibit please share your vision in a brief paragraph.  If it is a collaborative show please provide names of involved artists.

-Artist's Statement - Artists must provide a statement describing his or her art, influences, background, and information regarding technique to be used in conjunction with the exhibition.  The Village Theater at Cherry Hill reserves the right to edit the statement.  Any part of this statement may be reprinted or used in news releases and publications.



-BIO listing art related background and art education.

-List of representative images submitted - Document artwork including the artist's name, title, medium, dimensions, and date of the work.  We are looking for recent artwork created within the last 5 years.  A few older pieces or work gathered for a retrospective show may be part of an exhibition.  We prefer work that has not been shown at our gallery before; exceptions may be made for work that was part of a past collaborative show.



-USB Flash Drive or CD with standard JPG format - ten images maximum with the artist's name and artwork title in the file name.  Flash Drives will be returned.  If it is to be a collaborative exhibit please provide one or two images from each involved artist...keeping the total number to 10.

*High resolution digital images (no larger than 2MB each) may be sent in lieu of USB or CD to Anne Jahn at: anne.jahn@canton-mi.org
All images must be in jpg format.  Please include all required information with images.

Incomplete entries will be disqualified.



The Gallery@VT can accommodate up to 40 pieces (depending upon size) and all must be framed in a professional manner and ready to hang with appropriate hardware (wire preferred) Unframed canvasses may be submitted if the sides are  solid color or a continuation of the painting.  We request a minimum of 11" x 14" and maximum of 4' x 8'.  (Requested exceptions to sizing and number of works will be reviewed by the Curator on a case by case basis.)
The Gallery's main wall has 72 linear feet for exhibition and the two end walls have 20 linear feet of space.  For a solo exhibition the artist must have enough pieces to fill the space; otherwise, a collaborative exhibit with 2 or more artists may be suggested.



Artist Registry


We are seeking artists for inclusion in a resource directory for consideration of possible future collaborations. All artistic media will be considered, including visual art, performing arts, and multimedia, such as painting and sculpture. All local artists within 30 miles of Canton are eligible for inclusion and will be considered for future projects.

We will review all publicity materials received and contact you with questions or interest in booking. Canton Township receives a great deal of interest from entertainers, with only a limited amount of opportunities. Please allow a reasonable amount of time to review submitted materials. All information will be kept in our resource files for future consideration.
